The Open Air Art Market begins this Friday in downtown Elkin.

The two-day venue starts on Friday from 5-9 p.m. and continues Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The third annual venue is a featured presentation by the Foothills Arts Council.

“Throughout the garden, house and porch there will be fine artists and heritage crafters from across the region and state including Veronica & David Bennett, Kathleen Master, Julian Charles Photography, Erik Dahlager, Lynn Larson, Richard Lee/Backyard Pottery, Sassy Gems by Geri, Michelle Gann’s Vintage Home, Keswick Candles, Lynne Chandler, Ellen James and Brenda Miller,” said Leighanne Martin Wright, executive director for the Foothills Arts Council.

“From fine art to pottery to jewelry to mixed media, there will be much variety for holiday shoppers. In addition to the artists, the back garden will feature fresh greenery decor and trees, food by chef Jeff Gibbs of 21 & Main and 222 Public House, and wine from Elkin Creek. And of course the newly built fire pit constructed by scout David Gaylord will be fired up and we will have S’mores kits available,” said Wright.

The Open Air Art Market will also feature live entertainment. On Friday from 5:50-7 p.m. will be Randy Fulk. From 7-9 p.m. will feature The Graybyrds. On Saturday at 10 a.m. will see Libby Haynes, Casey Marshall and Barry Carlton.

There is no admission charge for the Open Air Art Market. The Foothills Arts Council is located at 129 Church St. Friday night activities run in conjunction with Light Up Night, say organizers.
