As an antique store heads into its second year of business in downtown Elkin, the store owner is seeking to add more vendors to the shop.

“We have a few spots that are now available. I have my items in the location, but I’m shifting the products to another part of the store,” said Elizabeth King of Mountain Peddlers. King is commonly referenced as “Granny Liz.”

“This is the perfect location for someone selling antique items or crafts. If you’re interested, just walk in and let me know or call me,” said King.

Mountain Peddlers is located at 126 W. Main St.

King, an Elkin native, relocated Mountain Peddlers from Pilot Mountain in the fall of 2013.

Antiques, primitives and folk art provide a country atmosphere and relaxed shopping experience, according to King. When entering the store, shoppers are immediately drawn to the soft colors, the variety, and mostly, the affordable pricing.

“No sticker shock,” said King. “Everything has a price on it. It’s inexpensive. I’m retired and I’m happy with my prices.”

According to the store owner, she likes to display items that are different, creative, original and inspiring.

King said Mountain Peddlers will have Regina Shaw primitives, hand-crafted items created locally in Pilot Mountain.

“This store is filled with energy,” said King.

The items include traditional, but original woodworks that are functional and artistic. Home decor items for sale include candles, pottery, tin lighting, baskets, handcraft and restored antiques, and an array of seasonal items.

Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas items are making way into the store. The store is open each day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The store is closed Sunday and Monday.

All vendors interested in adding their collection to store space are asked to call 336-526-2449 and speak with Granny Liz.
