Topping the agenda for Friday’s portion of the gathering will be a short time to revisit the school system’s mission, vision and beliefs, followed by updates from the North Carolina School Board Association.
Other topics of discussion for Friday include year-round schools, Chartwells Food Services, digital teaching and learning, curriculum instruction in Elkin City Schools and a personnel outlook of the upcoming teacher shortage.
Dinner will follow at 6:15 p.m. at Dodge City Steakhouse.
On Saturday, an hour and a half of conversation will revolve around the 2016-17 Elkin City Schools budget. The rest of the morning will include roundtable discussion of topics for the board, Principals Team and directors, and then board members will talk about strategies to impact state legislation.
