Aug. 30

• 9:45 a.m., Friendship Baptist Church will have a “Sunday School Round Up.” Wear Western attire and come and join the fellowship, followed by a singing featuring the group Fortify during the worship hour. More information call 336-366-2768.

• 11 a.m., homecoming Services at Dayspring Baptist Chapel, 2286 White Dirt Road, Dobson. Everybody welcome to come and celebrate 21st anniversary. Covered-dish luncheon will be served after the worship service. Bruce Mosely and Harvest Time will be on hand to sing. Cameron Taylor will deliver a Biblical message.

• 3 to 7 p.m., St. Home Missionary Baptist Church will have a Youth Explosion in the Elkin Park, featuring ministering by WOW (Warriors of Worship) Wesley Chapel/Piney Grove; Pastor Alan Parsons of Abstract Church; and many more. • 6 p.m., Union Baptist Church, 2002 Traphill Union Road, Traphill, will have a singing featuring New Salem.

• 7 p.m., Cool Springs Baptist Church will have fifth Sunday night singing featuring Beyond The Blue.

Sept. 5

• 6 p.m., Union Hill Mission Baptist Church will have its 15th annual fall singing featuring The Churchmen. Bring lawn chairs. Food and refreshments are available. Church located 1266 Union Hill Road, Thurmond.

Sept. 11

• 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Port-A-Pit Chicken Dinner will be held at Elkin Rescue Squad Building sponsored by Ebenezer Heart Sisters. Cost is $8 per plate. Call 366-0210.

Sept. 12

• 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Grace Full Gospel Church on Messick Road, Jonesville, will have Pork BBQ plates. Cost of $9 per plate includes slaw/baked beans, rolls and dessert. • 7 p.m., Shoaly Branch Baptist Church will hold revival services


• 5 p.m., Christ Lutheran Church has a free community meal on the fourth Monday of each month at 451 Winston Road, Jonesville.

• 7 p.m., Abstract Church, 1785 N. Bridge St., Elkin, hosts Celebrate Recovering, a ministry designed to help hurting people, each Saturday. Trained leaders provide safe, confidential, Christ-centered groups where people can seek recovery and gain healing from life’s hurts, habits and hang-ups. The group is free.
