BAYADA hosting pediatric home care nursing career open house today

Event to celebrate Nurses Week

In honor of Nurses Week, May 6-12, the BAYADA Pediatrics office serving Alleghany, Surry, Wilkes and Yadkin counties will join with more than 50 BAYADA Pediatrics offices across the country to host a career open house for nurses interested in caring for children with special needs at home and school. Pediatric experience is a plus, however free training is available for adult nurses who want to transition to pediatrics.

The open house will be held at BAYADA Pediatrics, 1810 N. Bridge St., Suite 102B in Elkin on Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The festivities will feature refreshments, a drawing to win a number of prizes, and the chance to learn about the benefits of providing meaningful, one-on-one care for children in the comfort and safety of home. Pediatric nurses also provide care for children in the school classroom, during transportation to and from school, and on field trips.

“Our nurses receive specialized training to care for children from birth through adolescence and with a wide range of diagnoses, including seizure disorders, muscular diseases, neurological disorders, and respiratory diseases,” said BAYADA Pediatrics Director Ashley Grubb. “Thanks to the nurses, these kids can remain at home, instead of forcing parents to make the heart breaking decision to place their child in a long-term care facility.”

BAYADA offers competitive pay and benefits, flexible scheduling options, 24/7 clinical support, continuing education and training, one-on-one mentoring, recognition and scholarship programs, and career advancement opportunities.

“We believe our employees are our greatest asset,” said Grubb. “That’s why we support their growth, their long-term success, and help each nurse shape their career.”
