Virtual Costume Party contest under way

Staff Report

As children and adults in the area prepare for the annual Halloween festivities, it also means time to snap a picture of the ghosts, goblins, princesses and fairies and submit them online for The Tribune’s annual Virtual Costume Party contest.

McDonald’s of Elkin and Jonesville is sponsoring the cash prize for the Cutest category for the annual contest, which can be entered at, and Tribune staff is working to secure other prizes from area businesses as well.

Submissions can be entered from now through midnight Nov. 1, and voting will be held Nov. 2 through midnight Nov. 15. Winning entries will be displayed on the website through Nov. 22.

Winners are chosen by online visitors who will be allowed to cast votes — one per day.

Just like with other Tribune contests, participants — whether entering, voting or viewing — must have a valid email address, which must be listed as they fill out the online form.

To submit, visit, click on the Virtual Costume Party contest logo and follow the steps to upload the photo and enter.
