The Tri Star Outlaws AAU organization will be holding tryouts for the upcoming AAU season.
Tryouts will be on Sept. 18 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and also on Sept. 13 from 6:30 p.m. - 8 p.m. Both tryouts will be at Forbush lementary School Gym. Age group for this tryout will be rising 6th graders. For more information on tryouts you can email the Outlaws at lady_outlaws@hotmail.com
Elkin Recreation center to hold
Volleyball Clinic Elkin Recreation & Parks is offering a Girls Volleyball Clinic on Tuesday evenings from 6:15pm-7:30pm for girls 7-13 years old. The program will be held on Tuesdays beginning August 31, and will run
through October. Keith Briand will be the
instructor. The cost is $4 per class. All classes will be held at the Elkin Recreation

Forbush to meet Starmount in Unifi Bowl
The Annual Unifi Bowl will take place Friday vening in Boonville as Starmount hosts Forbush.
Starmount is off to a hot, 3-0 start. The Rams have tallied almost 150 combined points so far this season. Forbush has two losses so far this season, but as with any rivalry game, anything can happen. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. Friday.
Elkin T-shirts now on sale

Elkin tennis courts to undergo renovations
The tennis courts will be undergoing a major renovation and will be closed Sept. 7 through Nov. 1.

After a week off, the Elks will be back in action on their home turf as they host the East Wilkes Cardinals. The Cardinals are 2-1 and the Elks at 1-1. Game time is 7:30 p.m. Friday.
