Forbush High School took four teams to compete in the NRA Youth Hunter Education Challenge competition in Mansfield, PA. The teams that competed for Forbush were the Forbush Red team, the Forbush Blue team, the Forbush White team, and the Forbush Falcons team.

The competition took place the week of July 26, 2010. Pennsylvania Gold won the competition with a score of 8637 and Pennsylvania Blue finished second with a score of 8605. Forbush Red finished third overall in the competition with a team score of 8581. Members of the Red team who competed were Caleb Reavis, Anthony McLelland, Nick Kiter, Billy Janos and Nick Doub. Forbush Red placed first in shotgun with a team score of 1130 out of a possible 1500 points. Billy Janos won first place individually in shotgun with a score of 270 out of a possible 300 points. The Red team also placed third in Archery with a team score of 1251 out of a possible 1500 points. Caleb Reavis placed third individually in the Archery event with a score of 280 out of a possible 300 points. The Red team was third in Rifle and Orienteering. Nick Kiter placed second individually in the Hunter Safety Trail event with a score of 275 out of 300.

Forbush Blue finished fourth in the competition with a team score of 8486. Competing members of the Forbush Blue team were Tyler Testerman, Drew Queen, Todd Patterson, Morgan Parks and Hannah Joyce. Forbush Blue was third in the Hunter safety trail event and the Shotgun event. Hannah Joyce placed third in the Responsibility Exam with a score of 285 out of a possible 300 points.

The Forbush White team finished fourteenth in the competition. Members who participated as part of the white team were Brittany York, Matt Dale, Grant Matthews, Jarrett Hutchens and Ben Hobson.

The fourth team that competed in the competition was the Forbush Falcons team. Members who competed in the competition were Patrick Todd, Andrew Byrd, Keenan Poplin, Caleb Doub and Kala Haynes. Billy Janos placed third overall individually out of 185 competitors. Billy had a total score of 1899. Drew Queen finished fourth overall individually with a score of 1840.
