East Wilkes shuts out Forbush

The Forbush Falcons hosted the East Wilkes Cardinals Monday afternoon, and came up short in another hard-fought match, losing 9-0. The Cardinals improved their record to 2-0 after the win, as of Monday.

In singles competition, Jessica Rumple defeated Deanna Wilkins 6-0, 6-0, Audrianna Bauguess defeated Jordan Foster 6-1, 6-0, and Rachael Greene beat Danielle Steelman 6-2, 6-0. East's Kelley Johnson took down Maranda Buelin 6-2, 6-3, while Meredith Nance dropped Sydney Branon 6-0, 6-2. Hannah Brown defeated Krendle Norman 6-1, 6-0 in the final singles match of the evening before beginning doubles competition.

In Doubles action, East Wilkes' Jesica Rumple and Audrianna Bauguess defeated Deanna Wilkins and Maranda Buelin 8-2, while Rachael Greene and Meredith Nance defeated Danielle Steelman and Sydney Branon 8-1. In the final match of the evening, Kelley Johnson and Mary Garris of East Wilkes wrapped up the shut out, taking down Jordan Foster and Krendle Norman 8-1. The Falcons will travel to Millers Creek Thursday to take on the West Wilkes Blackhawks.

Elkin blasts Alleghany

Elkin improved their record, as of Monday afternoon, to 4-0, stomping Alleghany 9-0. The Elks shut down the Trojans, keeping their perfect record entact, without dropping a single match.

Kaylee Brown took down Emily Andrews 6-0, 6-0, Ashlen Reece defeated Kendra Brinegar 6-1, 6-0, and Emma White beat Alissa Koger 6-0, 6-0.

Esther Neumark took out Haley Sparlin 6-1, 6-0, Sarah Gwyn beat Molly Andrews 6-1, 6-0, and Mary Tayloe took down Julia Wood unscathed, 6-0, 6-0.

Doubles continued the Kaylee Brown and Ashlen Reece teamed up to defeat Kendra Brinegar and Alissa Koger 8-0, while Emma White and Sarah Gwyn shut down Haley Sparlin and Molly Andrews, 8-0. Finsihing up doubles competition, Esther Neumark and Mary Tayloe shut out Julia Wood and Lidia Garcia 8-0.

Forbush falls to Elkin

Elkin hosted Forbush last Thursday, and while rain kept the doubles from hitting the courts, the singles had already done their damage. Elkin won the match, 6-0, increasing their record to an undefeated 3-0.

Ashlen Reece defeated Deanna Wilkins 8-0, Kaylee Brown took down Danielle Steelman 8-0, while Emma White beat Jordan Foster 8-0 as well. Maranda Buelin was defeated by Esther Neumark 1-8, while Sydney Brannon was defeated 1-8 as well.

Elkin's Mary Taloe defeated Krednle Norman 8-0 for the sweep for Elkin before the doubles competition was rained out. Elkin
