Former Falcon tees up with Catawba

Leslie Long, a 2010 graduate of Forbush High School, has signed her NCAA letter of intent to play golf with the Catawba Indians.

Long joins the Indians after playing all four years at Forbush.

During her junior and senior years, long qualified for the state finals.

In 2009, she finished 19th in the 1A, 2A, and 3A State Championship at Foxfire at Pinehurst. Her two day total was a 174.

In 2010, she improved over the previous season, finishing 14th in the 1A, 2A, and 3A State Championship at Longleaf at Pinehurst. She improved her two day total by four strokes from the '09 season to finish with a 170.

Long earned a list of accolades her senior year. She was named the MVAC 2A Player of the Year, and was also the MVAC 2A Individual Champion.

In addition to her individual accomplishments, she was also part of the MVAC 2A Regular Season Champion and MVAC 2A Conference Tournament Champion Teams.

Long also played varsity basketball and softball for the Falcons for four years.
