With only two meets remaining before the conference meet, the Wet Lightning is pulling out all the stops with their goal set on retaining the conference title.

Saturday, Elkin hosted the Wytheville Waves, from Wytheville, Va. Elkin defeated the Waves the first time these two teams faced each other this season while on the road at Wytheville, 618-409.

For the first time in a week, Elkin was able to complete a full meet without the threat of inclement weather shortening or canceling the meet.

Elkin has steamrolled through the season, winning eight meets in a row. Their next and last home meet will take place on Tuesday, starting at 6 p.m., hosting Wilkesboro. Elkin's last meet of the season will take place in Galax next Saturday. The conference meet will take place Aug. 6-7.

At the time of publication, results had not been submitted to the Tribune. Full and complete results from the Saturday meet will appear in the next issue of the Tribune.
