Proving once again that the only thing that can stop the Wet Lightning is bad weather, Elkin took down the Dobson Dolphins, 829-396. The meet was eventually called just before the Medley Relays due to inclement weather, however, Elkin's swimmers had already done their damage.

"We had over 100 personal best times from 58 of our swimmers," Coach Emily Morrison said. Using the meet as a chance to make a big statement before the upcoming conference meet, the Wet Lightning was able to capitalize on great races to swim personal bests.

"Unfortunately, we were not able to complete the medley relays due to weather. Hopefully our conference meet will allow us to really showcase our relays," Morrison said.

Daniel Brinegar was just one of the several members of the Wet Lightning to swim several first place finishes at the meet. Brinegar took first in the Boys 11-12 100 yd IM with a time of 1:28.06, first in the 50 yd. Breaststroke with a time of 42.56, first in the 50 yd. Butterfly with a time of 41.18, and was also part of the Boys 11-12 200 Freestyle relay, along with Jarrett Peterson, Isaac Powell, and Reid Turner that took first with a time of 2:36.91.

The Wet Lightning will be back in action tomorrow at the Elkin Municipal Pool beginning at 9 a.m., hosting Wytheville.
