East Wilkes to host youth football camp

East Wilkes High School will host the 8th annual youth football camp from July 26-27. The camp will take place at the East Wilkes High School football field from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Registration is $25 per camper and fees will include a camp t-shirt, and pizza party on the last night of camp. Elkin Recreation and Parks to offer swim lessons

The last two week session of summer swimming lessons will be offered July 26 to Aug. 6. The class is Monday through Friday for children ages three to 12 years old . Fees are $25 for Elkin residents, and $45 for non-residents. For more information, call the Elkin Recreation Center at 835-9814.

Starmount to Hold Open Gym for Cheerleaders

Pleasant Grove Baptist Church to hold basketball camp

Pleasant Grove Baptist church will hold a basketball camp at the Clingman Community Center on July 31.

Myers Junior Open Tennis Tournament

Elkin Recreation and Parks Department will hold the Myers Junior Open Tennis Tournament, Aug. 6-8, 2010. All participants must be USTA members and have a current USTA number.

Miles for Mikki 5k run/walk

The 5k will be held at the Elkin Recreation Park on Sat. Aug. 21 at 8 a.m. The early registration fee is $15 and continues until Aug. 14.

Elkin Recreation and Parks to offer Saturday Basketball

The Elkin Parks and Recreation Department is offering Saturday Morning Basketball every Saturday in July for children ages 6-12.

The camp will be from 9-10:30 a.m. for children ages six to nine and 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. for children ages 10-12.

Registration for Soccer camp

The Elkin Recreation Center will host a fundamentals soccer camp, led by Elkin High School soccer coach Joe McCulloch along with members of the Elkin High School men's and women's soccer teams.
