Welcome Home Missionary Baptist Church on the Traphill Road will have Vacation Bible School this week through Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday will be Fun Day with all kinds of games, fun and food beginning at 5 p.m.

The A/C units that were stolen from the church a few weeks ago have been replaced now. It’s hard to believe that there are people who would steal from a church for a few dollars of copper so that they have to spend thousands of dollars to replace them.

Join a staff member at the Visitor Center at Stone Mountain State Park on Saturday to learn about the native fish species that live at Stone Mountain. Participants also will have a great opportunity to participate in a fun activity. This program is geared for kids of all ages. The program begins at 10 a.m. and lasts an hour.

Join a park ranger at the Visitor Center to learn about the hemorrhagic disease that affected the deer population at Stone Mountain in 2012 and 2013 on Saturday. The program begins at 2 p.m. and lasts 30 minutes.

Join a park ranger at the Hutchinson Homestead to learn about the formation of Stone Mountain. This program begins at 4 p.m. and lasts 30 minutes.

All kids are invited to the Summer Reading Program at the Traphill Branch Library. Kids are encouraged to read to win prizes during the summer. Some great programs are planned so come out and enjoy them.

On Thursday, Ms. Becky will be there for a storytime and craft at 11 a.m.

New books ready to check out at the Traphill Branch Library include “Smile, Pout-Pout Fish” by Deborah Diesen, “The Books of Elsewhere: Spellbound” by Jacqueline West, “Go Big or Go Home” by Will Hobbs, “Susanna’s Dream” by Marta Perry, “Betting the Rainbow” by Jodi Thomas, “The Marriage Pact” by Linda Lael Miller, “Up At Butternut Lake” by Mary McNeal and “Extras” by Scott Westerfeld.

Larry Andrews will be bringing the message next Sunday at Garden Creek Baptist Church at 9 a.m. Campers in the Stone Mountain State Park are invited to come as you are to worship in this historic church.

Little Stone Mountain Baptist Church will have its Fifth Sunday singing on Sunday at 11 a.m. Deliverance will be the singing group.

The annual Fourth of July Celebration will be at the Traphill Fire Department beginning with games at 4 p.m., food and music at 5 p.m., and fireworks at dusk.

Old Roaring River Baptist Church on the Longbottom Road will have a Vacation Bible School kick off on July 5 from 3 to 5 p.m. and request that you bring a beach towel. VBS will be July 7-12 from 6 to 9 p.m. The theme this year is Weird Animals.

The Lighthouse Assembly want to give thanks to God for everyone in the community by having a free hot dog supper with gospel singing, a silent auction and a raffle at Austin Community Center on July 5 from noon to 5 p.m.
