Hinshaw - Scaggs exchange vows in Charlotte church

Amy Lauren Hinshaw and James Carl Scaggs Jr. exchanged vows May 3 in a 5 p.m. ceremony at First United Methodist Church in Charlotte. The Rev. Bob Boggan officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Randy and Gloria Rogers of Elkin and Charles and Monica Hinshaw of North Wilkesboro and granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Walls Jr. of Elkin. She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and is employed by Wray Ward.

The groom is the son of Diane Scaggs and the late James Carl Scaggs Sr. of Indian Trail. He is a graduate of Brunswick High School and is employed by SimplexGrinnell.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a Romona Keveza gown made of crystal lace over satin and featuring a sculpted neckline and fluted skirt flowing into a chapel train and a cathedral veil.

The matrons of honor were Diane Jost of Indian Trail and Karanda Osborne of Huntersville. Bridesmaids were Mary Cheek of Winston-Salem and Elaine Borgmeier of Charlotte.

Flower girl was Samantha Jost of Indian Trail, and ring bearer was Isaac Jost of Indian Trail.

Martin Lenaghan of Brunswick, Ohio, served as best man. Groomsmen were Jeffrey Jost of Indian Trail; Anthony Delaney of Brunswick, Ohio; Scott Darling of Valley City, Ohio; and Brent Dunlap of San Antonio, Texas.

Organ music was provided by Don Kaufhold.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Foundation for the Carolinas in Uptown Charlotte.

On the eve of the wedding, a rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom’s mother at Bentley’s on 27.

Greeters were Matthew and Lauren Macko of Charlotte.

Prior to the wedding, the bride was honored with a bridal shower at Red Rocks Cafe in Huntersville, hosted by Matrons of Honor Diane Jost and Karanda Osborne, bridesmaids Mary Cheek and Elaine Borgmeier and the mothers of the bridal couple.

Following a wedding trip to Riviera Maya, Mexico, the couple will reside in Charlotte.
