STATE ROAD — Bridges Academy parents are gearing up for their first Spring Bazaar to be held on April 12, announced the school director.

The spring bazaar will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 2587 Pleasant Ridge Road.

“We’re kicking off this community event and we expect a couple of hundred to show up,” said Merry Lowe, director of Bridges Academy. “We’re super excited about this event.”

Lowe said the celebration will feature dance clogging, an Easter egg hunt, more than 20 vendors selling crafts and food. A silent auction will be held, too.

According to Lowe, the Friends of Bridges Academy have spearheaded the coordination of the spring celebration. Nancy Crouse is the president of the Friends of Bridges Academy, and parents Meg Mahoney and Faye Marcacci are heading up day events.

“We have lots of volunteers to thank. The teachers are 100 percent in support and they’ll be at the celebration too…We wanted to do something that would give an opportunity for the community to come together,” said Lowe.
