Elkin City Schools will take time to recognize bus drivers and technical education in Monday’s meeting that is most likely to be shorter than usual due to the School Board Retreat being held on Friday and Saturday.
In “Love the Bus Week,” Casey Morrison will recognize bus drivers B.D. Reece, Anthony Shropshire, Danyelle Hampton, Jeff Reeves, Vickie Mendenhall, James Felts, Jerry Moses, John Wheeles, Larry Powell and Bill Owen.
“It is important that we recognize our bus drivers,” said School Superintendent Dr. Randy Bledsoe.
In addition, it is also Career Technical Education Month. Bledsoe said the school board will be “spotlighting programs and students who are state-wide leaders and preparation for their academic and career futures.”
In addition, the board will finalize inclement weather days on Monday.
The 2014-15 calendar will be discussed from information gained at the Board Retreat and it will be the boards decision on whether or not to make a final decision, said Bledsoe.
