Eagle Storage is coming to Elkin, records show. The storage facility will be built at 102 Dons Well Lane.

The site intersects CC Camp Road on the north side of the street and is nestled in between Walmart and Lowe’s Home Improvement.

Eagle Storage has a corporate office based in Pilot Mountain. The company also has storage facilities in Dobson and Yadkinville.

Calls to Eagle Storage corporate were not returned.

According to the permit, the property owners are listed as Creekside Village, LLC. The zoning permit was granted through the town of Elkin on Jan. 21.

“Any type of structure will need to go through the county for permitting,” said Elkin Town Manager Lloyd Payne. “We just ensure what they are doing is allowed per the zoning ordinance.”

A spokesperson for Surry County Building Department indicated that a permit application has not been submitted.

“Usually in these cases, a zoning permit is pulled through the town and it eventually leads to a building permit. Right now it’s probably grading that’s going on,” said the spokeswoman.

Per the zoning permit, the general contractor for the project is Ron David Construction, Inc.

“Right now we’re in the grading phase. The project is planned for several phases. We expect the project to be done by late June,” said David.

David confirmed that three storage units will be built.

According to David, Eagle Storage selected the site build after seeing potential growth for Elkin.

“The town manager said that apartments are going to be built in the area right down the street,” he said. David pointed southward toward the road that now houses the Pittsburgh Glass Works warehouse.
