The grand opening of Sheetz in Elkin is scheduled for Thursday at 11 a.m.
“We will have a ribbon cutting around 10:45 a.m. and then the store opens right after,” said Josh Mears, manager of the Sheetz.
Elkin dignitaries are expected to make the ceremony and will include Elkin’s elected officials and members of the Yadkin Valley Chamber of Commerce.
For the grand opening, Sheetz brought in a Sheetz-themed Hummer. The vehicle sits outside of the store entrance.
“We have a couple Hummers in North Carolina now, one in Greensboro and Raleigh. It’s here for the opening,” said Mears of the vehicle billboard.
“As far as on Thursday, we’ll have a full menu. Customers can use the touch screen order points. We have a 24/7 drive-up. We have a full coffee bar, full cooler stocked with great stuff,” he said.
“We know those kids can’t get enough of the Hummer, too,” Mears said.
