YADKINVILLE — Sheriff’s deputies made an arrest Friday relating to a Nov. 13 break-in.

Deputies charged Nicholas Roy Hawks, 19, of Mocksville, in connection to a break-in on Cox Mill Road in Yadkinville earlier this month.

The sheriff’s office began investigating the case after a neighbor reportedly saw a subject around the residence crawling out from under a barn door on the property.

The property was an unoccupied rental home, according to a press release from the sheriff’s office.

The neighbor got the vehicle’s description and was able to see what the subject had inside.

The arresting officer was able to catch Hawks trying to sell the property at a local metal recycler.

Hawks was charged with one felony count of breaking and entering, one felony count of larceny after the breaking and entering, and a felony count of obtaining property by false pretenses.

He was given an unsecured $15,000 bond and scheduled to appear in Yadkin County Court House Wednesday.
