The Buckin’ Elks, who brought home the 1A Mountain Valley Conference title after posting a 11-9-2 mark overall and 9-4-1 mark in league play, secured the third seed in the West bracket.
Elkin kicks off postseason play tonight at home against 14th seed Hayesville (1-10-2).

After tallying 14 wins in its first season in the Western Piedmont Conference, Forbush earned the No. 12 seed in the West/Midwest region.

All three teams closed the regular season with wins to head into the postseason with momentum.
On Senior Night, the Elks knocked off North Wilkes 4-1 last Wednesday.

Senior Daniel Cortes put the Elks ahead for good late in the half when he fired home a shot from the 18 for a 2-1 advantage.
Sanchez tacked on a second goal midway through the second half before senior Jose Rojas added the final tally to celebrate his final home game, giving Elkin a 4-1 victory.
Starmount celebrated Senior Night with a big 6-1 triumph over East Wilkes.
The Rams scored five goals in the first half to easily top the Cards in the regular-season finale.
Senior Juan Noveron found the back of the net twice, while Nathan Walker posted a goal on his Senior Night. Luis Pedraza, Collin Benfield and Bryan Jimenez rounded out the scoring for Starmount.
Freshman Spencer Kranz scored East’s lone goal.
