For the fourth-straight season, the Lady Elks were perfect.

Elkin captured its fourth-consecutive Mountain Valley Conference golf title Monday at the Cedarbrook Country Club in Elkin after posting another unbeaten campaign through league play.

Ashe County, Alleghany and Wilkes Central rounded out the field.

After jockeying back and forth atop the podium all season, teammates Annika Winebarger and Mary Frances Hall once again finished 1-2 at the conference meet.

Winebarger came out on top Monday, posting a 76 on the 18-hole course to bring home the individual title, while Hall finished second.

Following the tournament, the league announced its annual awards, naming Hall as the Golfer of the Year for the fourth time. Elkin Head Coach Sena Hinson earned Coach of the Year honors.

Winebarger joined her teammate on the all-conference list with Ashe County’s Sarah Hardin and Olivia Barr and Alleghany’s Katie Talley.

Elkin’s Kaley Cornelison and Palmer Duncan earned an honorable mention with Alleghany’s Kristen Carrico.
