Disturbance report leads to vandalism charge

A reported disturbance led Jonesville Police to make a vandalism arrest regarding an active warrant Monday.

Officers arrested Elisha Mary-Kay Godfrey, 22, of Jonesville July 29 following a report of a disturbance at 214 South Jonesville Boulevard. She was charged with one misdemeanor account of criminal damage to property.

According to a police report, two officers responded to a phone call and spoke to Godfrey at the scene.

The suspect told the police she and her brother had gotten into an argument and the brother had left walking, according to the report.

One of the officers ran a check on Godfrey and discovered she had an active warrant from Rockingham County. Godfrey was taken before a Yadkin County magistrate and received an unsecured $500 bond.

A court date was set for August 13 in the Rockingham County Court in Reidsville.
