Adams Bluegrass, LLC, announce that the 39th Annual North Carolina State Bluegrass Festival will be held again at Tom Johnson Rally Park and Camping Center at 1885 U.S. Highway 70 West in Marion, N.C.
The three-day event begins Thursday, August 15 at noon and goes until 10 p.m. daily, with Open Stage daily from 11 a.m. until noon.
Thursday’s lineup features Jimmy Fortune of The Statler Brothers, twice Grammy Nominated (IBMA Winners Entertainer of the Year 2008-2010). Dailey & Vincent will perform one 90 minute show beginning at 7:50. They will also team up to perform with Jimmy Fortune. Other featured artists include, Sons of Bluegrass, The Karl Shiflett & Big Country Show, Dry Branch Fire Squad, and Nothin’ Fancy.
Friday’s fabulous lineup of talent begins at 12:00 noon and goes until 10 p.m. featuring Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver ( Seven Time IBMA Gospel Group of the Year and Gospel Recorded Performance of the Year) will perform one 90-minute show at 8:30 p.m. Goldwing Express, Bluebilly Grit, Russell Moore (IBMA Male Vocalist) & IIIrd Tyme Out), and World Renowned Family Gospel Group The Isaacs will also perform.
Saturday’s lineup of talent begins at noon and goes until 10 p.m. featuring Rhonda Vincent & The Rage (Queen of Bluegrass and Winner of IBMA Female Vocalist 7 straight years), The Tony Rice Unit, Big Country Bluegrass, Paul Williams & The Victory Trio, and The Little Roy & Lizzy Show.
Tom Johnson Camping Center and Rally Park has 532 hookups, including water, electric, most with sewer, bathhouses, as well as RV sales and service. Also a restaurant serving breakfast and lunch with other hot food concessions on site. Please bring lawn chairs. No high back chairs. No alcoholic beverages allowed in concert area. Security on duty. This is a family show.
Show goes on rain or shine under a covered pavilion, with tickets available at the gate. Daily ticket prices are $30 for adults in advance until August 5th, then $35.00 at the gate.
A three-day adult ticket is $75 in advance and $85 at the gate. Children ages 6-13—$15 per day or 3 days for $40 in advance, $45 at the gate. Children under 6 are free when accompanied by parents. Tickets may be ordered online at adamsbluegrass.com. Sound by Blue Ridge Sound, Sherry Boyd, M.C.
