The starting line for this year’s event will be at the Wilkesboro Open Air Market beside of 104 West Main St., Wilkesboro. WAR combines physical and mental challenges with a host of competitions.
Teams of two will enjoy a county wide adventure, while competing in ten Pit Stop Challenges, with the hopes of winning the ultimate prize.
Pit stop locations will be announced the day of the event.
“Ten amazing Pit Stop Challenges have signed on to make this year so much fun for the teams,” says Melissa Smithey, organizer of the event. “Each year, teams have told us that they had a great time, and this year will be no exception.”
The challenges are designed to be both fun and wacky but still challenging, according to Smithey. The challenges are located at different businesses and tourist locations throughout Wilkes County. People of any age and ability can enjoy competing at these challenges.
The winner will be the first team to complete all ten challenges, and then report to the finish line. After the race, teams will enjoy a Finish Line Awards Celebration. The Finish Line Celebration begins at 6 p.m.
