The new competition cheer team, ELK LEGACY, has received bids to go to Nationals at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center in Myrtle Beach, S.C. The Nationals were held March 15-17 2013.
The first competition that the cheerleaders received a bid to Nationals was in Concord, N.C. in November 2012, when they came in first place in Jr. Pee-Wee Recreation.
The second competition was an exhibition called the “World Champions” that Forbush High School Cheerleaders sponsored in December.
The last competition Elk Legacy attended, was in January at Asheville, N.C. The squad came in third place, received a bid to Nationals, and received the most prestigious award: “The Edge Award”.
On March 15-17 2013, the Elk Legacy Competition Team traveled to Myrtle Beach, S.C. The squad performed its first routine early Saturday morning, nailing every stunt, every tumbling pass, and performed an almost flawless routine.
The squad was required to perform the same routine on Sunday morning. The Elk Legacy’s competition, West Harnatt from Sanford, N.C., eventually beat the Elk Legacy team by a small margin, putting the Elk team in second place.
The 2012-2013 Elk Legacy Cheerleaders are: Brittany Collins, Addison Collins, Arianna Collins, Savannah Collins, Sydney Collins, Sydney Cheek (not pictured), Emma Longworth, Madison Lane, Macy Lane, Olivia Martin, Katie Sidden, Sarah Wagoner, Rebecca Reece, Sophie Reinhardt, Mia Reinhardt, Maia Swhiekart, Kaily Harris, Kayla Felts, Alexandra Kakouras, Bree Pardue, Ella Briggs, Leara Riddle, Morgan Wiles, Alison Wells, and Jeana Adams. Coaches are Jami Harris, Shana Reinhardt, and Sharon Collins.
