Police and rescue workers responded to a wreck Monday at the Burger King on North Bridge Street in Elkin.

Fire Chief Tommy Wheeler said the call came in as a car wreck.

“We arrived on scene and had sufficient personnel here, so we transferred the response to ‘routine,’” Wheeler said.

A black SUV was on the scene, and crews worked to remove a person from the passenger seat. Responders took the person to the ambulance via stretcher.

“The patient is going to be taken to the hospital for treatment,” Wheeler said.
