Mrs. Mary Magdalene Dobson Boles, age 91 of Elkin went home to be with her Lord on Sunday morning, March 10, 2013 at Elkin Healthcare. Mary was born in Dobson NC to the late Abraham Harvey and Laura Ada Tucker Dobson. Mary was a lifetime member of Pleasant Union Missionary Baptist Church and retired from Vaughn Bassett Furniture (Elkin Plant) after 22 years of service.
In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, George Nathan Boles; one sister; and seven brothers.
Mary is survived by her children, Retired Sgt. Bobby L. Boles of Charlotte, NC, Betty Boles Kimber of Winston-Salem, Patricia Boles Kennedy of Elkin, Sandra René Boles of Kernersville, one sister, Betty Lou Dobson Hughes and husband Willie of Boonville; also left to cherish her memory are 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
The family would like to give special thanks to the nurses and staff of Elkin Healthcare for the care that was given to Mary. Very special recognition to Lou and Jim Spears, as well as Mrs. Viola Hampton who always had a special place in our mother’s heart.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00p.m, Thursday, March 14, 2013 at Pleasant Union Missionary Baptist Church by Rev. Larry Dobson. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will receive friend for one hour prior to the service.
