Soup sale to benefit Grace Clinic

The Grace Clinic of Elkin is holding a soup sale on Friday from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

The sale will be held at the Elkin First United Methodist Church located at 340 Hawthorne Road. Guests are asked to proceed to Fellowship Hall in the back of the church.

According to organizers of the soup sale, vegetable, vegetable beef, chicken and rice, potato, split pea with ham, broccoli with cheese, corn chowder, taco soup, and more are on the menu.

The cost for a bowl of soup is only $6.00 if you opt to be served at the church. The price includes soup, crackers, a cookie and a beverage.

If you pick up the bowl of soup for take out without a beverage, the cost is only $5.

A bargain is an $8 option that gives you an entire quart of soup.

Guests are encouraged to arrive early to get the soup of choice before items run out.

Grace Clinic was founded in June 2005 to provide care to residents of the Yadkin Valley area in northwest North Carolina, says its website.

The Grace Clinic offers basic health services and health education at little to no cost. The patients are within the ages of 18-64 and have no health insurance. Their household income is at or below 200 percent of poverty level. The clinic offers services such as regular check-ups, help when one starts to feel sick, health monitoring, help for heart diseases and high blood pressure, and several laboratory services.
